One For The Memory Pocket

'Is that Mummy?' I heard Hugh ask David while perched on his father's lap watching old Muppet videos.

FREEZE:
There are many moments along this swirly-twirly parental journey that I am determined to remember. And this is one of them...
1. I love Julie Andrews
2. I love to yodel. Ahem. I love trying to yodel...especially The Lonely Goatherd while driving in the car with my loyal audience members strapped down...unable to escape.
UNFREEZE:
'Please', I said to myself, 'Please don't ever forget this moment. And when you are feeling down and dumpy, just remember that for one beautiful moment, your son thought you were Julie Andrews'.

RUN Aunt Eleanor RUN!

In honour of Aunt Eleanor running the Chicago Marathon today, we decided to host our own race...perhaps slightly smaller than the Windy City's but certainly just as remarkable. After minutes of training, our fearless athletes: Hugh the Mighty Machine and Hank the Bucking Bronco took their starting positions. The crowd person watching waited in shivering anticipation for the marathon to begin. Would our runners be able to see their way through watery eyes and runny noses? Would Hank's toque fall over his face blinding him from the finish? Would Hugh's pink Crocs and flashlight carry him the distance of 26.2 feet? It was hard telling my friends...hard tellin'.After a very dramatic countdown and an impressive fake buzzer sound, the boys were off!
"RUN Hugh RUN!"
"RUN Hank RUN!", shouted the spectator. At the 15 feet mark, each boy needed a quick water break and then continued on their way to cross the finish line! The judge's cold breath got in the way to actually see who won...so it was only fair to award both boys 1st place!Congratulations Aunt Eleanor! We are so tremendously proud of you!!!

Saturday

After days and days of rain, we reveled in the warmth from the glowing sun as it took an occasional glimpse from behind billowy clouds. We shook tiny puddles off of our swings' seat and squealed with delight as we soared above the soggy earth. xo

O

I'm not going to lie...we are mighty intimidated by the letter of the day when it is a vowel. A, E and I were hard...and our letter O is even trickier. From the lack of enthusiasm encountered today when I offered Oatmeal for breakfast, Organizing for craft time and the Odyssey for a bedtime story...it became obvious that we will need a couple of days to cover the letter O.
Until then...
O is for Owlxo

Project Runway

Two years ago it began with mismatched socks. And then came the pink Crocs....but wearing Arlo's jeans {sized 6 months}...Well, I think we have to draw the line there...but am I crazy, or does the combo kind of work?Anyway, who am I to criticize...look who showed up in the park wearing an apron. And Arlo's threads...oh my...I say YES to swan shirts and purples stripes every time. Our kids don't have a chance, do they?
