Meet Diva

We haven't been getting very much sleep around here and it's getting pretty intense. We are t-i-r-e-d and hoping beyond hopes that Mr. Sandman will pay a visit to Hugh's room tonight. Even now I am typing with one eye open trying to give the other a small sleep...
However, do you know what perked us up this afternoon?
Coffee? Nope. Tried it. Didn't work.
A Nap? hahahhaa. We don't nap.
A Pony? Ding. Ding. Ding. Right! A pony named Diva did the trick!

She paid a visit to Hugh's school. The original plan was for the children to go for a pony ride. But Diva...living up to her name...didn't care to give rides to the children so they had to settle for pony walks. Fortunately Diva was kind enough to let Hugh have a small sit for a photo-op. Hugh loved Diva. The expression on his face says it all...And Arlo...sweet beautiful Arlo. Happy 2 Months Baby Boy!xo

Guest Starring Miles & Introducing Honnie

We enjoyed another visit from our favourite guest star, Miles. I would also like to introduce Hugh's new 'friend', Honnie {sounds like Connie}. Perhaps you have seen Honnie in photos previously posted. To be honest, I have not noticed our new friend...but according to Hugh, he's there. He likes to hang out on Arlo's car seat and we must always be very cautious not to crush Honnie when putting Arlo is in his seat. Yes, must-be-careful!

So because we had so many extra set of hands...we took the boys {I think Honnie is a boy?} to the car wash to scrub, spray and spiff up our car. Everyone worked quite hard {except for Arlo who found the whole experience very relaxing} and the results were dashing. As a thank you we took the boys for..................you guessed it! Ice Cream. Clearly from the picture, Honnie passed on the ice cream...apparently he doesn't like it.

8 Weeks

Happy 8 Weeks Arlo!
Here are your stats taken on the last day of your 7th week:Weight: Juicy {76 percentile}
Length: Really Long! {91 percentile}
Head: Taking after your Uncle Jamie. {85 percentile}
What do all those percentiles mean? Truthfully...I don't know. But what I think is that you're riding at the top of the class in comparison to all other babies. Of course you are...my little ham hock.

Here's how we celebrated week #8:
Ate ice cream at Scoopers where your brother made a brave decision. Ready? Okay, he asked for sprinkles on his vanilla ice cream. D-A-R-E-D-E-V-I-L. {He's been talking about it all day...which is funny because he didn't care for the rainbow spattering one bit.}You rested your bones on the front porch...and held Mummy's hand as you drifted...drifted...drifted to greet your sweet dreams. Goodnight.Happy 8 Weeks Arlo.

The Van

Today our neighbour La-La, rented a van. Not particularly exciting news to the average fellow...but to Hugh this was front page worthy stuff. La-La and his wife Ro-Ro often rent cars... and Hugh loves to see what new car will be parked in the driveway. Will it be red? Will it be big? Where will they be going in their car? How long will they be gone?

Typical of "car rental days", Hugh and I went outside to inspect. And while we were outside, La-La met us and gave an offer of a lifetime to a 3 year old boy:
"Hugh, would you like to go for a ride in my van?"
Although completely illegal to have a car seat in the passenger seat...how could I deny this child of mine such excitement? I couldn't. I just couldn't.
And it was well worth the risk... he's still smiling...

Coo Coo Cooing

Arlo and I had a lovely conversation today. At last he has started to coo. I'll share a little snippet from our talks...

Arlo: "Coo-Coo...agh. Ugh...garble garble...gleep" {Translation: Do you think these stripes make me look fat?"}

Mummy: "Yes. Isn't it grand? Oh Arlo...Look at your luscious tummy. Paint the town horizontal stripes! I'm sorry son, but now I must eat you..."
